Context
Operating within a European scope, this private equity (PE) fund sought to evaluate the pricing and monetization capabilities of a global pricing optimization and management provider. The provider operated under a SaaS model, and the PE firm considered it essential to thoroughly assess its current pricing, packaging, and go-to-market (GTM) strategy as part of a broader commercial due diligence process.
Approach and result
We customized and applied our SaaS pricing and monetization assessment framework to conduct the evaluation. Additionally, a voice-of-customer perspective was incorporated to capture insights on customer and prospect perceptions of pricing and fairness.
The assessment delivered a clear evaluation score supported by qualitative reasoning and nuances. High-level improvement opportunities were quantified, accompanied by estimated investment requirements, and consolidated into a business case for each potential initiative. These insights informed the creation of a preliminary improvement roadmap to guide potential post-acquisition actions.
